The scene in Birmingham
Godskitchen started in Birmingham in the mid-1990s and grew into one of the biggest club brands the UK has produced, eventually filling arenas rather than just clubs - a scale very few nights outside London ever reached.
Being the UK's second city gives Birmingham a resident audience most cities its size don't have, which has always made it viable for programming that needs real numbers through the door rather than relying on visitors.

Where it happens
The city centre carries most of the late-night activity, with Digbeth's warehouse and industrial spaces adding a newer, rougher-edged alternative to the more polished venues around Broad Street.
